AI for Managers and Leaders

Course Description

Generative artificial intelligence can help federal organizations improve analysis, communication, service delivery, and internal operations. It also introduces questions about accuracy, privacy, security, bias, workforce impact, records management, and accountability. Managers need enough practical understanding to identify worthwhile applications, recognize inappropriate uses, and guide responsible experimentation within agency policy.

This course gives leaders a plain-language understanding of how generative AI works, what it does well, and where it can produce incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading results. Participants examine management and mission use cases and apply a structured framework that considers expected value, feasibility, data sensitivity, risk, human review, and organizational readiness.

Participants work through federal workplace scenarios and assess one potential use case from their own organization. They leave with clear questions to ask, safeguards to establish, and a practical action plan for evaluating or introducing AI while retaining human judgment and accountability.
