Leading Hybrid and Distributed Teams

Course Description

Hybrid and distributed teams require deliberate leadership because employees have fewer informal opportunities to clarify expectations, build relationships, and identify problems early. This updated workshop helps supervisors establish operating norms, choose communication channels, create equitable access to information and opportunities, and manage outcomes rather than visibility. Participants address practical challenges involving trust, engagement, workload, performance, meetings, and collaboration across locations and schedules.

Learning Objectives

Successful completion of this course will increase your knowledge and ability to:

  • Identify the leadership challenges and opportunities associated with hybrid and distributed work
  • Establish team agreements for availability, communication, meetings, documentation, and response times
  • Create inclusive practices that give remote and onsite employees equitable access
  • Set measurable expectations and monitor outcomes without micromanaging
  • Strengthen trust, connection, engagement, feedback, and accountability across distance.
